I don’t know if this is wrong or right but I feel like what has helped me the most with respect to this fear is the vast number of failures that I’ve experienced. There was a season where I was jaded and gave up but who He created me to be could not be denied. However, jadedness and wholeness cannot coexist. Like Jonah, I was forced to look up while in the belly of the whale. Yes, there have been so many failures that my only recourse was to turn to Him and find my identity in Him. Now I can say that it’s a good thing that I was pushed into that corner. In that secret place, He conveyed promises in His word about His faithfulness to us. As this process continues, I’m repeatedly reminded of that and the more I focus on that, the less double-minded I become. One of the scriptures I look to is Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

      Leonardo,

I really loved your statement, “jadedness and wholeness cannot coexist.” There is no substitute for being brought to a place where you finally trust in God in a new way. I wish I was a quick learner in this area, but God has to keep bringing me to the end of my own resources so that I can find a deeper joy in Him.
