Are Artists Prophets? Part 2
Is it surprising that different artists have different callings? Of course not! Some are provocative, some are therapeutic, and others are more pragmatic, etc. If we look closely we’ll see these types of artists echo the three offices of Christ we find in the Bible. More than just prophets, we also have the opportunity to be like priests, or like the kings.
Tim Keller put it this way: He said the Christian life includes the calling to, “Think like a prophet, serve like a priest, and plan like a king.” Your art may give preference to one, but your life should grow in its ability to exhibit all three. We have taught on this issue for years in New York and Los Angeles. Finally, we created a video on this topic to share with you. I hope it gives you clarity in your own art and life.
