Pelsue vs Schaeffer: Excellent Art vs Redemptive Art
Though Schaeffer was quite down on abstract art, I offer a corrective which is needed in order to have a better working definition of art, and to accommodate the value of abstract art. Schaeffer looks at abstract art as well as the difference between excellent craftsmanship and excellent content. He reminds us that just because a work of art is well produced, and moves us through great craftsmanship, and creativity, doesn’t mean that the worldview of the work of art is true.
