AEM Artist Forum: How to Film Truth with author Justin Wells

Filmmaker and author Justin Wells explores the intersection between life, faith, and storytelling in his new book, How to Film Truth: The Story of Documentary Film as a Spiritual Journey (Wipf & Stock, August). In the book he explores the ways in which filmmakers have sought to tell the truth in powerful and personal ways over the years.

About the author & speaker: The author and filmmaker is a graduate of California State Long Beach, Fuller Theological Seminary, and Art Center College of Design. Actively working in the film industry as a camera technician and documentary filmmaker, Wells is devoted to the process of filming truth. He has been a member of the International Cinematographer’s Guild since 2005 for his work in commercials, television, and movies. Wells’s Master of Fine Arts degree in filmmaking was awarded by the Art Center College of Design, where he focused on documentaries. His first feature documentary, titled, “The Space of Our Time” explores the relationship between a healthy community and urban design.
