AEM Artist Forum: Creative Differences

September 13, 2015 - 6:00 pm

It’s Dinner and a Lecture and Discussion time.
Our topic-Conflict Resolution:
OUCH! It’s all fun and games until someone gets hurt. But the truth is, conflict is inevitable. We all have different creative visions, goals, and personalities. Along the way, people can do foolish things, hurtful things, and even selfish things.
How can we keep our sanity without ignoring every offense, avoiding “those” difficult people (sometimes it seems like they are everywhere), or just blowing up and “getting it off our chest”?
We can overlook a minor irritation, but larger frustrations are not so simple. Some of us bottle it up and pretend we are fine, while other people become nuclear. Conflict is a part of life(just accept that now). But there is a bright side: Conflict has the potential to bring healing, deeper and more meaningful relationships, and even better scripts, films, music, and other forms of art. After all, our hearts will always influence the art we create.
Join us as we discuss when to confront, when to forgive, and when to walk away(maybe Kenny Rogers will show up for a demonstration). The better we handle conflict, the more we will be a blessing to our families, friends, and other creatives we encounter.
